My name is Stephen P. Gallagher, former Practice Management Advisor for the New York State Bar Association and currently president of Leadershipcoach.us, an executive coaching company for attorneys. I am also an adjunct professor of marketing at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia.

My primary work is with attorneys in an effort to help individuals assume greater leadership responsibilities within their firm. This involves individual and group coaching, law firm interventions, strategic planning retreats, as well as consulting services to help integrate mentoring/coaching into associate training.

I have over 30-years in working in the legal profession, so I have been involved in attorney training from a number of perspectives. Before joining NYSBA in 1990, I had worked at Temple University School of Law as Director of Administration and Assistant Director of Career Development. I moved on to become a legal administrator in several mid-sized firms before joining the legal department of First Fidelity Bancorporation.

I continue to advise bar associations on strategies for addressing the changes taking place in the profession. I am a member of the Publishing Board and the Education Board of the American Bar Association's Law Practice Management (ABA-LPM) Section. I have written extensively in the areas of strategic planning, leadership and organizational change, and balancing life and work. I hold a M.S. in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania, along with a M.Ed. Degree in Counseling Education from West Chester University in Pennsylvania.
